How to organise and pay for care
We understand how challenging it can be for family members needing to organise residential care for an elderly relative.
We're often told by families that once they found us, and worked out how the care system actually worked, making a decision to choose Tweed View Care Home was the easy part. Getting to that point, though, was often strained, adding even more stress because of lack of information, mixed messages and not knowing who to ask about what.
It seems the families we've talked to are far from alone, according to a recent report by consumer watchdog Which? The report, based on research with families across the UK who kept a diary about their experiences when they were locating and funding care for a loved one, found that people faced a 'maze' of confusing advice and a real lack of even the most basic information. resulting in unnecessary distress.
We're really pleased to report that in light of their findings Which? has released a new website providing free information to people needing to organise and pay for long-term care. Information about long-term care options, care funding and assessments, and support for carers is now freely available.
